About Young London Today
Who we are
At Young London Today, we believe that every young person deserves a future filled with possibility, belonging, and hope.
Founded over 15 years ago, our organisation was created to ensure that care-experienced young people have the same life chances as any of their peers. What began as a small, passionate initiative has grown into a trusted, regulated provider supporting hundreds of young people across London and the Home Counties.
Today, we operate 12 homes, offering high-quality accommodation and personalised support for up to 90 children and young people at any one time. Our services are Ofsted-registered under the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023, delivered by a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about empowering young people to thrive.
We work in close partnership with 17 local authorities, community organisations, and training providers to deliver consistent, high-quality support that truly changes lives.
Our Approach
Our work is grounded in a trauma-informed model of care, built on empathy, consistency, and emotional safety. We recognise that many young people have experienced instability, loss, or trauma and that lasting progress begins with feeling understood and secure.
Our staff receive specialist training to help young people make sense of their experiences, regulate emotions, and build healthy, trusting relationships. Every young person has a co-produced support plan focused on education, employment, wellbeing, and independent living skills.
We use restorative practice, reflective supervision, and collaborative problem-solving to ensure that care is delivered with young people, not to them.
This young person-led approach helps each individual develop a stronger sense of identity, purpose, and control over their future.
We also embrace innovation to enhance connection and communication. Through the Young London Today App — designed by young people, for young people, residents can stay connected with staff, review their plans, ask for support, report concerns, and access wellbeing and learning resources in real time.
It’s more than a tool, it’s a symbol of our commitment to participation, empowerment, and progress.

We are committed to supporting the journey of young people as they strive to achieve independence, define their own future, and positively impact their communities.
-
Our support is relationship-based. We know that lasting change happens not through rules or routines alone, but through connection.
Staff work alongside young people as mentors and role models, offering guidance, accountability, and genuine care. -
We use reflective practice to help staff stay emotionally attuned, manage challenges constructively, and model the calm, respectful interactions that young people can learn from. Managers and keyworkers receive regular reflective supervision to ensure that care decisions are thoughtful, consistent, and aligned with our core values.
-
We encourage every young person to have a voice in their journey. Their opinions shape their plans, their homes, and even our organisational decisions. We promote this through house meetings, surveys, and our pioneering Young London Today App, which gives young people a direct line to leadership and the tools to engage meaningfully in their own support.

Young-Person Participation and Empowerment
-
Our approach is young person–led. We involve young people in co-producing their support plans, setting achievable goals, and reflecting on progress.
They are encouraged to take ownership of their development through digital access, open communication, and reward-based engagement on our App. -
By doing this, we move away from a system of dependency and towards one of empowerment — helping young people recognise their strengths, take responsibility for their actions, and make informed choices for their future.
-
We also celebrate individuality. Each young person’s culture, identity, and aspirations are respected and supported. We ensure that diversity and inclusion are embedded in everything we do, from daily routines to policy design.
