Learning That Builds Confidence and Opportunity
At Young London Today, we believe that learning doesn’t stop at school, it continues through every experience that helps a young person build confidence, skills, and self-belief.
Through our partnership with the Vocational Training Hub (part of the Training Hub Big Initiative), our young people have access to a wide range of personal development and employability courses. These are specifically designed to help young people aged 16+ improve their confidence, communication, and readiness for work or further education.
The courses, workshops, and online learning options available through the Hub include

Personal development
and goal setting

Digital skills and online safety and goal setting

Confidence building and
communication skills

Financial literacy and budgeting

CV writing and interview preparation

Health, wellbeling, and
positive lifestyle choices
Each young person is supported by their Keyworker to identify the right learning opportunities for their goals. Participation in these sessions not only strengthens their CV but also enhances their employability, resilience, and future prospects.
Our aim is simple to help young people discover their potential, gain real-world skills, and take confident steps towards independence and success.

CAREERS & WORK EXPERIENCE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
At Young London Today, we know that opportunity changes everything. Our Careers and Work Experience Programme helps young people turn their ambitions into achievable goals by connecting them with real-world experiences that build confidence and employability.
We work closely with local employers, training providers, and community partners to create work placements, mentoring opportunities, and employment pathways tailored to each young person’s interests and aspirations. With the support of their Keyworker, every young person is guided to explore what they enjoy, develop practical skills, and build a professional CV that reflects their growth and potential.
Young people can access

Short-term and long-term work placements across a range of industries

Mentoring and shadowing opportunities with experienced professionals
